Thursday, July 24, 2014

Congratulations to the D & D Elevator sales Department! Six new modernization/Construction projects were booked for the month of June.

Dave, Judy Mike, Great job and thank you for a job well done from all of your fellow team members!

•    New construction of a medical office building in the Bronx
During the first week of June, we were awarded a new construction project to install a 3 stop roped hydraulic passenger elevator in a new medical office building on Williamsbridge Road in the Bronx. The installation will begin sometime in November of 2014.

•    Mid-town Manhattan Residential Modernization Project
We have received an approval to perform a complete modernization of an existing 7 story Commercial building, the equipment originally was installed in 1960. We will be upgrading to a new energy efficient VVVF drive, new traction machine and an upscale cab design to include natural wood finishes and bronze fixtures.

•    Upper East Side renovation is “Raising the Roof”
This unique project includes taking the existing elevator shaft and adding another floor of service to the building structure. Our engineering staff along with our Elevator Equipment Manufacturers, have designed a modernization project which will allow us to keep much of the existing shaftway equipment. This will increase the travel to accommodate a new seventh floor for this very exclusive single family home. We will be extending the existing rails and reusing the existing sling, platform and counterweight equipment. A new controller, wiring main machine and cab enclosure will be provided as part of the upgrade.  These upgrades will result in major savings to the property owner.
•    Historical Brooklyn Downtown building gets elevator upgrade
We were excited to be chosen as the elevator contractor to modernize this Brooklyn landmark building. This downtown building was originally built in the late 1890’s for the New York and New Jersey Telephone and telegraph Company,  and was designed by the well known Architect Rudolph Daus. We will be modernizing the elevator equipment to a duplex operation with VVVF drives along with a  new modern cab design.
•    Six story multi-family gets an elevator upgrade
D & D Elevator has been contracted to upgrade a six (6), story multi-family residence, which was originally built in 1947. The new equipment upgrades include,  converting an existing basement drum application to a basement traction machine along with new control fixtures, cab enclosure and new energy efficient AC drive technology.

•    White Plains Residential building gets a facelift
D & D has been awarded a contract to modernize two passenger elevators in an existing nine (9) story residential building located in the City of White Plains. We have worked on several renovations with this customer.  Along with that we enjoy the professional relationship that has ensured the end product is always the most reliable and energy efficient system available. They spare no expense making sure their tenants are surrounded with the best quality and most reliable building systems when they perform these large and complex renovations.
